clothing made from designer cotton fabrics

some of the visitors have asked if designer cotton fabrics, especially of the quilting-weight, can be used to make baju kurung.
let's have a look at three baju made from quilting-weight fabrics...

the first one here, kebaya nyonya from andover fabrics, "fete des fleurs" collection ~ tossed tulips (top -kebaya) and "fete des fleurs" ~ tulips en masse (bottom - kain)

this baju kurung is also made from andover fabrics, "dimples metallic" collection ~ red ...

whereas the fabric for this long dress (inspired by the amy butler's long dress design from her website...) is from robert kaufman, "hyakkoryouran 6" collection by quilt gate.

we've come to the last ready-stock fabrics available here, art gallery fabrics. all of them are designed by just one designer, patricia bravo.
they are using 100% premium cotton, that is light-weight cotton. we, here in malaysia, are more familiar with the texture of the fabric as it is similar to japanese cotton, whereas in the usa, they are more close to quilting-weight cotton.
d'amani cottontherapy carries one or two pieces from 10 out of 26 collections of art gallery fabrics.
